Seattle DUI & Criminal Defense Lawyers
Defending Clients Against Misdemeanor Charges
Many people mistakenly believe that a public defender is more than enough to defend against a DUI charge. Unfortunately, public defenders handle so many clients that they do not have the time to give every case the attention it deserves. Furthermore, Washington is very aggressive about prosecuting DUIs, and only a dedicated Seattle DUI defense attorney trained and focused on this practice area will have a full arsenal ready to defend clients.
At Veitch Ault & Associates, we are strong advocates in the fight against a DUI prosecution. Our Seattle DUI and criminal defense attorneys have years of combined experience practicing Washington legal defense. We also possess the same drug and alcohol testing training certification standard for Washington law enforcement. Our firm also handles a number of other misdemeanor charges as well.
We encourage you to come and meet our team before making a final decision. Call (425) 307-5515 today for your free consultation.

Seattle Municipal Court for DUIs
If arrested for DUI by an officer employed by either the Seattle Police Department or Port of Seattle, your case will be filed in Seattle Municipal Court. The court is located at 600 5th Avenue Seattle. Unlike King County, the City of Seattle will often file charges immediately upon arrest (unless a blood sample was obtained).
While Seattle Municipal Court judges occasionally rotate, those currently hearing DUI cases are Judge Catherine McDowell, Judge Damon Shadid, Judge Faye Chess-Prentice, Judge Anita Crawford-Willis, Judge Adam Eisenberg, and Judge Willie Gregory.
The City of Seattle Prosecutors Office consistently asks for stringent pre-trial conditions of release at DUI Arraignment hearings. Thus, it is especially important to have retained an experienced attorney prior to your first hearing.
Passionate About Protecting Your Rights
We consider many of Washington’s DUI prosecution methods to be egregious oversteps. Certain courts have even been known to ignore scientific evidence disputing the validity of a field sobriety test. Thankfully, we are also trained in these tests and can argue against results from a legal standpoint and protect the rights of our clients.
Part of Veitch Ault & Associates’ commitment to excellence includes:
- Free case evaluations either in-person or over the phone.
- Over 40 years of combined experience between our partner attorneys.
- Our founding attorney is certified in administering the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Field Sobriety Test (FST).
- Our founding attorney is also a member of the National College of DUI Defense and is ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impairment Detection Enforcement) Certified.
- Familiarity with Washington state laws, courts, statutes of limitations, and other aspects crucial to your case.
- Tailored representation to fit every client’s unique goals and needs.
- 24/7 access to your attorney throughout your case.
